Spectrum is currently seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk who will have the primary responsibility of verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments along with preparing, identifying information and counts, weighing, or measuring items of incoming and outgoing shipments along with verifying information against bills, invoices, orders, or other records at our Consolidated Forensics Laboratory (CFL) location.

Spectrum is currently seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Clerk who will have the primary responsibility of verifying and maintaining records on incoming and outgoing shipments along with preparing, identifying information and counts, weighing, or measuring items of incoming and outgoing shipments along with verifying information against bills, invoices, orders, or other records at our Consolidated Forensics Laboratory (CFL) location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be available to work standard shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm.
- Determine appropriate shipping methods using knowledge of procedures, routes, and rates; prepare, label, and document shipments including postage, weights, and charges.
- Pack and prepare outgoing shipments by assembling or selecting containers, inserting items with protective materials, and verifying shipments meet specifications before dispatch.
- Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming shipments; document and resolve damages or shortages, process returns, and route items to appropriate departments.
- Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies, ensuring adequate stock and proper organization within a secure environment.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., hand trucks, lift trucks) to move shipments and may oversee or assist in coordinating shipping and receiving activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) or equivalent.
- 3 years experience working in a mailroom or related field.
- Microsoft Office Suite experience (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) required.
- Must be able to comply with background check, including fingerprints and be able to maintain secure site access.
- Previous experience working in a customer-facing service environment.
- Successful experience working as an effective member of a team.
- Experience successfully working with a culturally diverse staff & clients.
- Effective oral and written communication skills commensurate with the responsibilities of the position
- Ability to present a positive image of the organization to members of the community
- Must have effective organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
- Ability to learn and comprehend information from Procedures manuals and other materials
